Food Safety and Security Research Facility

Project Highlights

  • Project involved programming, construction documents, construction administration and commissioning for a portion of a new 103,000 SF food safety research facility.
  • The facility will be used for research relevant to emerging biological and chemical threats for pre- and post-harvest food safety, animal disease (including diagnostics, detection and treatment), and transmission of disease by insects, crop plant resistance to disease and pests and countermeasures for biological and chemical agents.
  • The facility contains BL-3 and Bl-3AG spaces and laboratories.  Hendon & Redmond provided the programming and design for the animal testing and processing portion of the facility.
